About the Gift

There is no trick to understanding God's greatest GIFT. This Bible verse tells us that the GIFT of God is eternal life!

What is a gift? A gift is something you cannot earn, pay for, or pay back.

Why? Earning it, makes it a reward. Paying for it makes it a purchased possession. Even if you need to pay it back. That just means you purchased it on credit.

A gift is unearned and freely given. It is not sold to the receiver.

Eternal life is life in the presence of God, that never ends. Jesus said in John chapter 11, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die."

For us, this sounds very strange. However, this is the hope and wonder of an awesome, supernatural God. All things are possible with God. The fact that He said it in the Bible, means it is a promise to you!

Why Receive the Gift?

Take a moment and answer the following questions. They are not trick questions, and the more truthful you are, the more you will see your need to accept Jesus as your Saviour!

1. Have you ever earned wages for a job? ___________________________________________________

2. What are the wages of sin? ___________________________________________________

3. Would you like to be paid for those wages today? ___________________________________________________

4. What is the GIFT of God? ___________________________________________________

5. Who’s is the GIFT of God through? ___________________________________________________

How to Receive the Gift!

It takes a confession to God that you know that you are a sinner and trusting belief that Jesus is the only One that could and did pay for your sins. If you believe these two things, then tell God right now and pray something like this:

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner and that your Son, Jesus Christ, died for me, paying for my sins. I receive Jesus right now as my Saviour and ask Him to come into my heart and forgive me of all my sin and save me, right now. Thank you, Jesus, for loving me and Saving me. Amen.
